Seven Gems Of San Antonio
The iconic sunset Cafe and music venue has established itself as one of the most popular and loved places in San Antonio. Founded in 1994 by Javier Anadon, Cafe Mambo has played host to many memorable events down through the decades, including the BBC Radio 1 Weekend in August, the In The Mix Charity gathering and pre parties featuring some of the most famous DJ´s and parties in the World such as David Guetta, Fatboy Slim, Pete Tong MBE, Steve Aoki, Like Mike and Dimitri Vegas, Carl Cox, Paris Hilton and many more international stars. Cafe Mambo is open daily from 10am to 2am serving breakfast, lunch and dinner as well as cocktails, champagnes and VIP services.
A beautiful old villa that has been lovingly transformed into a luxury restaurant with its own cocktail terrace and chill out area. Live music performances from acts such as Spanish guitar player, Paco Fernandaz, acoustic concerts and food events. Table No 9 at Villa Mercedes, with its privileged views of the harbour, is one of the most requested tables in the port and an ideal location for a special occasion.
An intimate and secluded beach surrounded by pine trees and sand. This charming little beach is located less than 20 minutes walk from the end of the sunset strip promenade and has been popular with local families for decades due to its shallow waters and peaceful environment. El Chiringito restaurant which adjoins the Cala, offers fresh seafood and mediterranean dishes and is a popular wedding venue due to its sea views and quality kitchen.
This small group of islets near Cap Negret, are surrounded by high cliffs and hidden coves. Popular with divers and kayaks, they have impressive natural rock arches which boats and people like to sail and swim under. Underwater galleries and large rock formations provide shelter for Barracudas and other marine life and the water has excellent transparency which offers remarkable light effects.
With a steep decline down to a horseshoe shaped bay, populated with fishermen huts and stone boathouses, Ses Balandres is a wonderful and invigorating experience. The descent down to the rocky cove is made by wooden ladder and rope railings and is not for the faint hearted. The cove is mostly deserted and offers crystal clear emerald waters with splendid views of nearby Ses Margalidas.
Located in the small traditional hamlet of Santa Agnes, with its whitewashed church surrounded by fields of almond trees that blossom so beautifully in the spring, Can Cosmi is a local rustic restaurant famous for its homemade tortilla, made with a mix of vegetables and thinner than the traditional Spanish Tortilla. It has a small grocery shop attached to the bar restaurant and its terrace overlooks the church.
Words fail to describe the real essence of La Torre, one must experience first hand its unique character and magnificent views to understand its true identity.
