WHO WE ARE
The iconic Cafe Mambo sits in the centre of what has become known as the sunset strip in San Antonio. Established in 1994 by Javier Anadon and against all advice, the original small ibicencan and derelict house has become a prevailing force in the dance music industry. With international Djs of the caliber of Pete Tong, Roger Sanchez, Paul Oakenfold and Frankie Knuckles playing regular sets, not to mention appearances by Groove Armada, Faithless, BodyRockers, Jaimie Cullum, Brand New Heavies (to name a few) Cafe Mambo has firmly established itself as a visionary frontrunner in a highly competitive field.
In 2007 Cafe Mambo was honored for the second time with the prestigious DJ Award for the best Bar in Ibiza. This was international recognition for the marked contribution Cafe Mambo has made to the island, changing the way people perceive San Antonio within the music industry and generally making a tangible difference to the way bars and restaurants think in Ibiza.
Originally just a solitary house which just happened to be facing one of the most famous sunsets in the world, the shrewdness of the Mambo team have ensured that the original personality has not been lost. The bar is decorated with traditional Ibicencan features such as mosaics and marble and the terrace has been designed to complement the surrounding area. Coupled with state of the art HD sound and video, free wifi, and a contemporary menu, Mambo is a flourishing example of a fusion of old and new with that injection of pioneer spirit essential to creating a thriving business
Then of course there's THAT view; The Ibicencan Sunset has been serenaded for centuries but never as seductively as at Cafe Mambo, taking the sunset session to another level, and wowing the crowd with eclectic musical choices. Beloved by locals and celebrated by tourists, in a few years Cafe Mambo has cemented itself as a rite of passage.
Being on the sharp end of forward thinking in Ibiza has led to Cafe Mambo hosting many of the islands exclusive and renowned parties.
Famously Radio 1 has used Mambo as the central base for its infamous weekender featuring live broadcasts on Radio 1 including Pete Tongs essential selection.
Live radio broadcasts for Kiss Fm, 40 Principales Radio (broadcast to over 80 countries), Galaxy FM and Filming for Sky Arts took place last summer alone and with 2012 upon us Cafe Mambo is moving smoothly into the digital era.
Live streaming, an interactive website, more cutting edge interviews and filming in HD for Café Mambo TV - currently with over a million views worldwide - plus international DJ sets beamed live and direct around the world are planned.
Facebook and Twitter fans can communicate directly with the Mambo team, day or night and online ticket sales and merchandise are a given.
Our Mambo Concierge team will turn your dreams into reality in a flash and the Mamboats power boat captains can see you turn up to the sunset in style.
Despite all this however, our grass roots remain the same. Mambo is by definition a family business, our resident DJs have been with us a long time and we have had the same management for over 10 years. Expansion and progress can only be achieved with hard work, loyalty and dedication from our first year waiters to our long term management team. But the bottom line for the Mambo brand is our customers; for after all they make us who we are.
The leadership baton has passed to the Mambo brothers who with vision and foresight are leading from the front and 2014 looks set to be another HUGE year for us. We will be celebrating our 20th anniversary!
So to customers old and new: here is to 2014… let's make it a large one!!
