Discover The Silver Lining In Ibiza This August

a knockout post If this year has taught us anything it’s that in Ibiza, we can find a silver lining no matter what the circumstances. So while August normally hurtles along at breakneck speed, this summer we’re taking things a little slower and do you know what? It’s great! This season, there’s a distinctly laid-back, low-key vibe and that’s giving visitors the opportunity to discover all the other things about the white isle that we love — all the things that make it one of the best destinations on the planet. Yes, you can still hear incredible music, but there are thousands of alternative ways to bask in Ibiza’s beauty and now’s your chance to really discover them all!

For a start, with no club nights there’s plenty of time to simply bask in all that glorious Mediterranean sunshine (not to mention slightly less likelihood of suffering a derailing hangover). One of our favourite places to soak up the rays is Las Mimosas, where it’s positively encouraged that guests spend entire days lounging by the pool, sipping on cocktails and just generally taking things easy. On Saturdays, there’s a delicious barbecue from 1-6pm; on Thursdays and Fridays there’s live music, and for the spiritually inclined, there’s sunset yoga on Tuesday evenings and early morning yoga on Sundays. And to continue with the theme of self-care, there’s a luxurious onsite spa for treatments that ease all your troubles away. Just be sure to book to guarantee a spot.

Those who prefer their holidays punctuated by activities are also in for a treat. Tons of water sports are available in and around San Antonio (and the rest of the island, of course, if you’re happy to travel). From stand up paddle surfing and kayaking to flyboarding and snorkelling, there’s loads to keep you entertained above and below the sea’s surface. And of course, no trip to Ibiza would be complete without a sunset cruise with your very best pals. Contact Mambo concierge and they can arrange a day at sea on your behalf, bevs and picnic included, fun times supplied by your very fine selves.

Back on dry land and Cala Gracioneta is a fantastic spot to spend the day. Enjoy this picturesque cove with its fine golden sand and sparkling waters and then head to Cala Gracioneta Restaurant for a sumptuous lunch of seafood paella washed down with cava sangria. For dinner, Casa Maca can’t be beaten. Boasting some of the most jaw-dropping views of Ibiza town on the entire island, the focus here is on hearty farm to table fare that’s as tasty as it is wholesome. And of course, the one and only Mambo is still open. This year it’s a pared back affair — think first class dinner and drinks and the perfect Balearic soundtrack to celebrate those ice cream coloured skies, sometimes coming courtesy of unannounced Mambo regulars like MK, Darius Syrossian, Jonas Blue and the one and only Fatboy Slim. Because things might be different this year but we still like to dole out the surprises! So what are you waiting for? Jump on a flight and get out here, we’ve got the hierbas on ice and ready to go!
