A Week Of Music at Cafe Mambo

A name we are sure to be hearing a lot more of in the future, is the talented dark folk singer Aurora. The 20 year old rising star from Bergen in Norway has just released her beautiful All My Demons Greeting Me as a Friend album and on Friday night, MK dropped his unreleased remix of I Went Too Far. Expect to hear a lot more of this remix this summer. A popular track with MK this season, is his remix of Teach Me by Bakermat which has been well received at Cafe Mambo, especially with the Pacha dancers. Friday was a big night as MK was joined by Claptone who had the crowd in the palm of his gloved hands, delivering a smooth mix of classics and new remixes, none more popular than Claptones unreleased remix of the Seals and Croft Classic, Summer Breeze. This could easily turn into a summer anthem.

Tuesday saw Chris Lorenzo and Techniks preparty Together at Amnesia. The cool base driven party, is one of the most popular nights at Cafe Mambo and we were treated to some classics including Gypsy Woman. The london based Technik was making his debut at Cafe Mambo and the young Gentleman made quite an impression, dropping the Danny Serrano remix of The Nu-Nu sound and the David Jach edit of Alone. Chris Lorenzo was seen to good effect when he treated us to the classic Deep Inside by Hardrive.

Wednesdays are all about Martin Solvieg and this week the Frenchman treated us to a quality set dropping This Girl from Kungs vs Cookin On 3 Burners and also introducing us to Australian musician Flume and his track Never Be Like You. On the same night, Martin was joined by Coco Coles who was another making her debut at Cafe Mambo this week

We could tell that Saturday night with Bob Sinclar was going to be a special one, as the energy and vibe about the place was infectious. Bob brings so much colour and atmosphere to Mambo and all his family were present to preparty Paris By Night for Pacha. With the lovely Pacha dancers in attendance, the DJ booth was crowded both inside and out. Bob dropped two interesting remixes of Crystal Waters Gypsy Woman and That's The way Love is by Ten City. Erik Hagleton has impressed with his slick reworks recently and he played one of his most popular, Jump and Shout by Basement Jaxx, after Bob´s set was finished.

On Sunday we were treated to an ace lineup as Darius Syrossian was joined by Danish producer Kolsch for the Do Not Sleep preparty for Space On Sundays. Kolsch´s nordic style is distinct and a track that reflected this was the Traumprinzs Over To the End remix of Parallaxis by Efdemin. Darius Syrossian is becoming a firm favourite at Mambo and among a raft of unreleased new tracks he dropped the Waze and Odyssey´s I wanna remix of House Season.

On Monday a double header once again with Gotsome and Kydus. Gotsome had a really good set and reminded us how good a track Yin by Wolfgang Gartner and Francis Preve was. He also treated us to the Ghogh remix of Dancing from Eats Everything feat Tiga and Audion.

For the FMIF preparty on Thursday, Taao Kross was pumping out the tunes which featured Faded by LilM and Right Thing by Dennis Ferrer.
