Ibiza Solar Eclipse 2026: A Historic Sunset at Café Mambo
We can all agree that every sunset in Ibiza is incredible, especially when it’s witnessed at Café Mambo, but prepare yourselves folks, because next week there’s something really, really special going down and we want all of you there to share it with us.
Get your sunglasses ready, because on Wednesday 12 August, a rare total solar eclipse will coincide with sunset over the Balearic Islands, and we will have front row seats of the once-in-a-generation spectacle. For those of you who don’t already know (make that all of us!), a solar eclipse is when the moon passes directly between Earth and the sun, blocking the face of the sun and sending a narrow strip of Earth's surface into darkness. It results in an otherworldly white halo of light in the sky and a distant sunset glow on the horizon. In summary: it’s going to be like nothing you’ve ever seen before or will ever see again — this is a celestial event that only happens once every 360-400 years!
Where better to watch such a monumental display than at Café Mambo, which has been defining iconic Ibiza sunsets for over three decades. Even better? The dons of dance music MEDUZA³ will be there to soundtrack every second as part of the official pre-party for Our House at HÏ, before taking to the stage at the Playa d’en Bossa Club. This trio has become the biggest global streaming Italian artists in history, with a catalogue boasting over 20 billion streams across era-defining records including Piece Of Your Heart, Lose Control, Paradise and Tell It To My Heart. It really is going to be a very special night.
The totality is expected between between approximately 8:26pm and 8:32pm, but all roads to San Antonio will be closed from 3-9pm on the day, so make sure you get over to us nice and early, then settle in for some rounds of strawberry mojitos before watching the extraordinary moment that day turns to night over the Mediterranean. Epic doesn’t quite do it justice!
And just when you think things couldn’t get any better, we’ve gone and lined up Fatboy Slim for you the following day. That’s right, the big beat pioneer in the kaleidoscopic shirt will be in attendance on Thursday 13 August, building on the sky-high hype from the day before. Fatboy’s Mambo sets are legendary and always a complete roadblock, so make sure you don’t miss out.
This is going to be an unforgettable few days in Ibiza’s history, and we want all of you on Sunset Strip with us to celebrate Café Mambo style. See you there!
