Capital Dance at Café Mambo
Not gonna lie — at Mambo we’re pretty used to epic takeovers and incredible performances combined with mind-bending sunset backdrops, but back in July we teamed up with the legends at Capital Dance — the UK’s official dance station — for a hookup that surpassed even our expectations. As is customary on the white isle, the sun was shining, the sky was bright blue, and as ever, our devoted Mambo crew brought more energy than a shaken up can of Red Bull. We couldn’t have asked for a better result from our first collaboration together.
Top gun at Capital Dance and all round man of the people MistaJam was there of course, and he wasted no time in ramping up the crowd. On the first day he was joined by Sam Green and Carla Monroe, who performed their iconic summer tune ‘Jam Inside Your Love’. Hannah Laing and Schak followed, and seeing everyone through till sunset was Meduza and Sam Tompkins who delivered ‘Phone’, yet another summer banger perfect for hot Ibiza nights.
And it didn’t there, because the following scorching day, MistaJam welcomed Toolroom regular, tech house maestro and proper sound scouser, Essel. Scottish lads LF System, most famed for ‘Afraid To Feel’ — last year’s track of the summer — were also in attendance, and so was the one and only Becky Hill, whose live vocals quite frankly blew our socks off. Sunset Strip was lit up, for once not by sunset, and it’s already gone down as one of our most memorable events of summer 2023.
So, want to know the GREAT NEWS?! After the raging success of that takeover, we have another scheduled for next month and the lineup is bigger and better than ever! Kicking off on Friday 8th September, we’ve got James Hype, Venbee, Camden Cox and of course, MistaJam all confirmed. Then on Saturday 9th September, we’re joined by another huge lineup of Belters Only, Jazzy, Eats Everything and Franky Wah! Yes, you read that right. So if you’re lucky enough to be in Ibiza (where else would you want to be?) get those dates in your diary and when the clock strikes 4pm on Friday 8th September, get your bums down to Mambo pronto.
We’re still buzzing from the last Capital Dance takeover, so this weekend is 100% guaranteed to be one for the history books. If you'll be on the island come on down, and if not you can listen live on GlobalPlayer!
